Ademola Adeleke of Osun has said that the government has no plans to grant state pardon to Dr Rahman Adedoyin, who was sentenced to death for murder of Timothy Adegoke. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Osun High Court of Justice sitting in Osogbo  had on May 30  sentenced Adedoyin, owner of Hilton Hotels,  to death by hanging for the murder of Adegoke, a postgraduate student of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU ), Ile-Ife. A statement issued on Monday in Osogbo by Malam Olawale Rasheed, the governor’s  media aide, denied reports on social media that Adeleke was plotting to subvert the judgement  by granting state pardon to Adedoyin. Nigerian Tribune gathered that the money and the documents were taken from the Lagos residence of Emefiele on Friday afternoon after about a day-long search of the property. Emefiele, who was arrested June 10 by the DSS, has spent eight days in the custody of the agency. It was scooped that Emefiele may spend longer than earlier reported in DSS custody as investigation into his activities while in charge of the apex bank is far from being concluded. Ukraine war: Russia threatens the world, moves first nuclear weapons to Belarus In what looks like a threat to the whole world, Russia has already stationed a first batch of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, Vladimir Putin has confirmed. 1 Week Lockdown Declared In Southeast A one-week lockdown in the Southeast has been declared by popular Biafra agitator, Simon Ekpa. He announced on Wednesday that the purpose of the one-week sit-at-home was to demand the immediate release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra. Ekpa, the Finland-based lawyer and Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile in a statement disclosed that there will be a sit-at-home from July 3rd to 10th, 2023.
