LOCAL GOVERNMENT AUTONOMY: OSUN STATE ATTORNEY-GENERAL, BARR. WOLE JIMI-BADA, LEADS TEAM TO SUPREME COURT
The Attorney General of Osun State, Barr Oluwole Jimi-Bada, yesterday led Osun State Legal Team to the Supreme Court as the Apex Court heard the high-profile Local Government Autonomy case filed by the Federal Government against all States of the Federation.
Osun State Legal Team which includes the Special Adviser to the Governor on Legal Matters, Barr Nurudeen Kareem, Barr Jide Obisakin and Barr John Opaluwa, has filed a Notice of Preliminary Objection challenging the competence of the suit and jurisdiction of the Court as the Federal Government fails to join necessary parties affected by the reliefs sought in the case.
During hearing yesterday, Barr Jimi-Bada raised the fundamental issue of fair hearing as the Originating Summons filed by the Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi SAN, on behalf of the Federal Government was not served on Osun State.
The Learned Attorney-General of Osun State lives up to expectations by fulfilling his constitutional duties through diligent represention and defence of the interest of Osun State at all times.
The suit marked SC/CV/343/2024 has been reserved for judgment.
