The Way Forward for Osun PDP: Let's Stop Preventing Groups From Commencing Governor Adeleke Re-Emergence Advocacy in Earnest

The Coordinator of the IMOLE DE LEKANSI, a socio-political group in the heart of Ifeland, who also doubles as the Special Assistant to the Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Osun State, Comrade Arewa Oluwaseun Olaposi has sounded a warning call to the state chairman of People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun state, Hon. Sunday Bisi and other party leaders in Osun, that it is high time for our leaders and party members across the state to stop preventing different groups that have willingly shown concern in supporting and promoting our Governor, Asiwaju Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke.
It is on record that some set of leaders in the state are hell-bent on truncating the efforts of some groups who are mainly not party members of PDP but have just come together because of their love for the unprecedented progress and development Osun State is witnessing under the able leadership of *Senator Ademola Adeleke* as the governor of the state. A sharp contrast to what they have witnessed over the years before the emergence of Mr. Governor.
Yet, some sets of leaders have been working tirelessly to put a stop to these types of groups, believing such is an attempt to cut their wings or curtail their ego as the acclaimed eyes and ears of the Governor. These leaders failed to realize that the majority of voters are not even party men and women but people who are driven by conscience and love for the state, they'll do anything within their capacity to ensure they have their choice re-elected. A demonstration we saw at the 2018 gubernatorial election before the infamous "inconclusive", and the feat was repeated wholeheartedly by the people in 2022, a scenario that birthed the current administration led by our able and capable leader, Asiwaju Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke.
If those who championed this are now so glad and satisfied with the performance of our governor and have decided to maintain such groups in different fora, extending such to different wards and local government areas, what is now the yardstick for some leaders to be against such? To my amazement, only a few members of such groups are of PDP extraction and these relatively few members in return were victims of victimization at their ward meetings and at different times been told to denounce such groups to the extent that members who refused to yield to their threat were constantly harassed and in most cases denied their entitlement in the party.
The victimization action is now having negative effects on other unsuspecting members to start taking a distance step and this attitude is promoting internal conflicts, the concerned leaders seem happy and satisfied because their real motive is nothing but for selfishness reasons, and no individuals or groups can spring up without their knowledge and such person or group must be under their control and command. Their only wish is just to be the deciding factor and nothing more important to them than their control and protection of their ego as a deciding factor in the political landscape of their domain. If we may ask, why would they continually engage in stopping or frustrating the effort of these different advocacy groups from commencing their support in earnest for Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke's re-emergence?
This call is for us to have a united front and to ultimately avoid the happening or repeat of what we have witnessed in Edo state some months back and what we recently witnessed in our neighbouring state in Ondo. To avoid the pitfalls of the Edo and Ondo elections, the Osun PDP leadership must adopt a more inclusive approach, embracing diversity and promoting unity within the party. This includes embracing support groups. This could be achieved by allowing non-party members to support and promote the governor's re-emergence in their way possible. As well as fostering unity and inclusivity by encouraging diversity and promoting unity within the party.
By learning from the experiences of Edo and Ondo states, the Osun PDP leadership can position themselves for success in future elections. Because of the love for Governor Ademola Adeleke, because of the love for PDP, as a party that set people's priorities right. In my opinion, our leaders should pay attention and address this concomitant observation by detonating the visible time bomb before it's too late like that of Edo and Ondo states.
Unity and inclusivity are the keys to Osun PDP's
