The Osun State Ministry of Justice Lawyers today 3rd of January, 2025 held a splendid gathering to honour excellence, leadership, and dedication in the legal and public service sectors. This extraordinary event, which brought together eminent royal fathers, judicial luminaries, government officials, and distinguished dignitaries, served as a prelude to the much-anticipated 2024 Man of the Year Award. Set amidst an atmosphere of elegance, grandeur, and cultural pride, the occasion celebrated individuals whose remarkable contributions have profoundly advanced justice, governance, and societal development in Osun State and beyond.


The occasion was significantly elevated by the regal presence of esteemed royal fathers, whose attendance added both grandeur and cultural resonance to the gathering. Among the distinguished royals were His Royal Highness, Oba Peter Oluwole Ipadeola Akinyooye, the Olufon of Ifon Kingdom, His Royal Highness, Oba (Dr.) Olubayo Ademola Oyelade, Abidogun the First, Alara of Ara Kingdom, and His Royal Highness, Oba Aberdeen Adeyemi, the Alamo of Ayegbaju Ijesha. Their royal blessings, wisdom, and leadership exemplified the enduring cultural heritage and unity that underpin the progress of Osun State.


In a significant highlight of the day, the Oyato Commissioner, Barrister Oluwole Jimi-Bada, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Osun State, was honoured with the prestigious 2024 Man of the Year Award. This overall merit award recognised his outstanding contributions to the legal profession and his exceptional leadership in advancing justice, governance, and societal progress in Osun State. Barrister Jimi-Bada’s firm commitment to the rule of law, advocacy for justice, and transformative work within the Ministry of Justice has made him a deserving recipient of this high accolade, solidifying his reputation as a complete source of excellence.


The event also proudly honoured distinguished members of the judiciary whose contributions to justice and equity have been unparalleled. Hon. Justice Adeyinka Adebayo Aderibigbe, Administrative Judge of Ilesha Division, High Court of Osun; Hon. Justice Kudirat Morayo Akano, High Court of Osun State; Hon. Justice Abiola Adunola Adewemimo, National Industrial Court; Hon. Justice Adedapo Olugbenga Adeniji, High Court of Osun State; Hon. Justice A. O. G. Onibokun, High Court of Osun State; and Hon. Justice R. A. Shiyanbola, President, Customary Court of Appeal, Osun State, were all celebrated for their constant commitment, visionary leadership, and exemplary service to justice and societal betterment. Additionally, Barrister (Mrs.) Morufat Adekemi Bello, Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, Osun State, was acknowledged for her instrumental role in advancing legal practices in the state.


Notable government officials and special guests added further significance to the occasion. Among them were Hon. Adeola Olusola Ogungbile, Honourable Commissioner of Finance; Hon. George Alabi, Honourable Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning; Hon. Babatola Faseru, Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security; and Dr. Olaoye, representing Land Affairs. Special recognition was also accorded to the Jimi-Bada Vanguards, whose meticulous organisation and unrelenting efforts ensured the event’s resounding success, serving as the backbone of this remarkable occasion.


The programme featured enthralling traditional music, cultural displays, and eloquent speeches, all of which underscored the values of leadership, unity, and service. Barrister Alhaji Adekilekun led the opening prayer, setting a solemn tone for the event, while Barrister Kayode Titiloye delivered a heartfelt closing prayer, bringing the gathering to a graceful and reflective conclusion.
