Osun Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Oluwole Jimi-Bada, Affirms Support for the February 22, 2025, Local Government Elections in Ife Federal Constituency





As the February 22, 2025, local government elections approach, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Oluwole Jimi-Bada, has reaffirmed his commitment to democratic principles and his full support for the electoral process. In a strong show of solidarity, he has pledged his unconditional backing for all local government chairmen under the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ife East, Ife Central, Ife North, and Ife South, recognizing their dedication to service and community development.


Barrister Jimi-Bada, a staunch advocate for justice, accountability, and institutional integrity, has emphasized the pivotal role of grassroots leadership in driving sustainable development and social progress. He lauded the local government chairmen for their visionary leadership, commitment, and proactive governance during their brief stay at the council as a caretaker under the visionary governor, His Excellency Asiwaju Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, noting that their efforts have been instrumental in enhancing public welfare and infrastructure across the constituency.


In alignment with global democratic standards, Barrister Jimi-Bada has called for an election that is transparent, peaceful, and reflective of the people’s will. He has urged all stakeholders, including candidates, political parties, the electorate, and electoral bodies to uphold the principles of fairness, integrity, and responsible political engagement throughout the process.

The Attorney General has also called on security agencies and electoral bodies to ensure that the election is conducted under strict adherence to the rule of law, free from violence, manipulation, or misconduct. He emphasized that any attempt to subvert the democratic process would not be tolerated, as it threatens public trust, social stability, and democratic integrity.
