OSUN APC: WHEN FOOLISHNESS BECOMES POLICY AND PARANOIA BECOMES STRATEGY

OSUN APC: WHEN FOOLISHNESS BECOMES POLICY AND PARANOIA BECOMES STRATEGY

By Arewa Oluwaseun

Once again, the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has resorted to its old habit of throwing wild, baseless allegations in the air, a trademark of a party increasingly disconnected from democratic ideals and constitutional logic. It’s a disturbing reflection of a party that has completely lost touch with reality, direction and its own supporters.

Their latest press conference is not just a political comedy, it’s an embarrassing paradox that raises one critical question: Is the Osun APC under the influence of desperation or delusion?. is it now clear, even to the most die-hard APC faithful, that what’s left of the party in Osun is not a political movement but a confused, desperate and leaderless mob choking on its own contradictions.

The question that every loyal APC member should now ask is: Are we still in a political party, or a cult driven by delusion and fear of the law? For years, the APC ruled Osun with iron fists, disobeyed court orders, manipulated institutions and looted public resources without shame. Now, the Adeleke-led administration is doing the right thing by approaching a court of competent jurisdiction and APC is wailing like a banshee in heat, screaming about “kangaroo judgments” and “judicial coups.”

Wait, so approaching the court is now a crime? Isn’t this the same APC that used courtrooms like private playgrounds for years? Why are they suddenly scared of justice? Unless of course, they know their fake chairmen can’t survive a minute under legal scrutiny. It is pathetic, no, disgraceful that APC will, in one breath, say Adeleke should obey the law, and in the same breath accuse him of seeking legal interpretation in a court of law. What do they want the people's governor to do, summon a witch doctor or consult a babalawo for political advice?

This level of inconsistency would be comical if it wasn’t so dangerous. It exposes the APC as a party that no longer has a vision, a mission, or even a functioning brain cell left at its Osun headquarters. If you're an APC supporter, ask yourself: How did your party get here?

This once proud party now depends on unverified “intelligence,” imaginary “Amotekun thugs,” and cooked-up conspiracy theories to stay relevant in Osun. Their leaders, instead of articulating plans for development, are busy conjuring fairy tales about Adeleke wearing black robes and controlling High Court judges with remote controls. If your party's only strength is spreading panic and its only vision is political violence, is that still a party worth dying for?

APC is now more of a WhatsApp gossip group than a political institution. Their national image is bruised, their local relevance is fading and their own members are now quietly joining the PDP or sitting at home in shame.

APC should be the last party to talk about “illegality.” Was it not under their watch that OSSIEC hurriedly conducted a kangaroo local government election just days before exiting power? An election with no transparency, no credible voter register and zero constitutional backing? Now that the Adeleke administration is cleaning up the mess, APC wants to hold the state to ransom. How does that make sense?

The APC cannot, on one hand, urge adherence to judicial decisions and on the other hand, condemn the Governor for seeking judicial clarification. That’s not governance; that’s political schizophrenia. If Adeleke's government is truly approaching the courts, then that is the highest form of respect for the rule of law. Anything outside of that is APC’s imagination or perhaps, fear of being exposed once again as the real architects of illegality in Osun’s local government system.

Until then, APC should stop hallucinating about "kangaroo judgments" and allow the courts to do their job, unless, of course, their problem is with the judiciary finally acting independently.

Let’s be honest: what more can the APC offer Osun people? They have failed in power, failed in opposition, failed at governance and now, they are even failing at propaganda. The few remaining APC loyalists in Osun need to open their eyes and see clearly, your party is dead. You are being led by men who are afraid of justice, allergic to truth and obsessed with violence. They want to burn the state just to cling to expired positions they never earned.

If you're still in APC, ask yourself: Do you want to keep defending lies? Do you want to remain loyal to those who insult your intelligence daily? Do you want to be associated with a group that sees courtrooms as threats instead of tools for justice?

Because many others are already making the right decision to abandon a sinking ship before it drags them down with it. APC has indeed become a party of political illiterates screaming about court orders they can’t even interpret. Their problem is not Adeleke. Their problem is karma. And it's arriving with full force.

It’s time for our ever sensible Osun citizens and disillusioned APC supporters to choose peace, law and progress over chaos, noise and fraud. The game is over. The mask has fallen. And Osun has moved on.
