Permit me to say here that it is high time that the main opposition party in Osun State, the All Progressives Congress ought to have waken up and move out of the defeat the party suffered in the last gubernatorial election of 2022 and national election of 2023.

I had listened to the submission of the APC Chairman in Osun State about the senseless postulation that Akogun Lere Oyewumi, the senator representing the Osun West Senatorial District at the Red Chamber confessed that he tried to engaged in Vote-Buying but his money was returned back to him.

It is trite to say that after winning the election, the senator tried to woo some strong member of the APC to join the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP because he sees them as asset to the ruling party.

It is a common sense that every election comes with intriguing and tactics which each party adopts in order to win the election.

Senator Lere Oyewumi, being a politician of repute cannot and will not lose guard to be saying anything that will soil his name and that of the party but APC in it's manipulative ways is trying to conjures irrelevant write up to malign the personality of the distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria who also doubled as the minority leader of the Assembly.

If we critically assess the statement of the APC Chairman in relation to what he said Akogun Lere Oyewumi said about the 2023 election, then, of what relevant is the statement to the 2022 governorship election in Osun State.

If Senator Lere Oyewumi actually sent money to buy votes in 2023 election according to the statement credited to APC Chairman, was that same money used for Vote-Buying in 2022 as alleged by the APC Chairman.

It's high time APC as an opposition party in the state learn how to criticize constructively and play the role of opposition rather than rigmarole and hallucinating about a tsunami that has befallen the party.

The video in question was doctored no doubt about this but to suit their purpose and this is the trade in stock of the APC in the state ever since they lost the state to the ruling party of PDP. Hence, they were looking for sympathy from the voters in the upcoming election(s).

The loss of a strong member of the APC to the ruling PDP in the Senatorial District has caused a major blow to the party and this why they are ready to go any length to conjure a disjointed video footage to back up a false claim.

If the money in question was rejected as claimed by the APC Chairman, how come Akogun Lere Oyewumi won the same election where money was rejected by the voters.

During the election, we had international observers, the EFCC and many agencies that monitored the election and none of them reported a case of Vote-Buying.

The APC government in Osun State lost the election because the party under performed when they are in government. Every mistakes of the past administration is what the government of Ademola Adeleke is trying to to correct now and this achievement is giving APC headache in Osun State.
